Expanding our services.
We are so excited to announce that as of last week, we have made a big step forward and opened a second meal service location at the West End community park.
Other charities who serve at West End have seen the growing need for food services in this area, especially in recent weeks. We jumped at the opportunity to serve at this location on Saturday evenings. To get the ball rolling, we visited another charity’s food service on Wednesday afternoon and began to hand our fliers and spread the word.
The first service went well and we had plenty of food and even more people to share it with. There was even one gentlemen who quickly returned to us after taking one bite of his meal saying he just HAD to come back for seconds.
This year has been difficult for all, especially for those vulnerable people in our community who are faced with even more stress and uncertainty. We hope that by providing another service in West End, we are able to reach more people in need and create a sense of ease in knowing where their next warm meal will be coming from.
We look forward to continuing to help those in need at Kemp Place, and now at West End as well.
